If you want to watch our democracy at work, visit the Santa Barbara Elections Office during the ballot counting process. Anyone can take a tour of the various rooms and observe the actual processes that ensure our ballots are handled with the utmost care.
Due to COVID-19, arrangements and tour days and times may change. The elections office is normally open during the counting period Monday – Saturday, 9 am – 4 pm (closed 1/2 hour for lunch around noon) until the final ballots have been counted and reported to the state.
