Results of the June 7, 2022 Primary Election

June 7, 2022 preliminary California Primary Election results.
A good day for Democratic candidates in California!

Final results will be certified and available on July 15, 2022.
Here are some preliminary results of particular interest:
Gavin Newsom (D) leads statewide at 56.3% and counting (Santa Barbara County 60.0% of the vote)
Gregg Hart (D) won the majority 58.4% of the votes for our newly revised Assembly District 37, which includes our Santa Maria Valley, and will runoff against Mike Stoker this coming November.
Incumbent U.S. Representative Salud Carbajal (D) received 61.91% for his 24th District, and will run off against Brad Allen in November.
Incumbent Dr. Susan Salcido, endorsed by Democrats, was re-elected and will retain her seat, no runoff in November, as Superintendent of Schools in Santa Barbara County.
In Santa Barbara County, 4,464 people went to the polls and 44,824 mailed in ballots, 20.95% of the county’s 235,212 registered voters.
